However, the purpose here is to delineate the multi-faceted role of DT involving the efficacy improvement of KM practices, which in turn affects costs and risks, thereby impacting organizational effectiveness. Therefore, according to a quantitative study, the researcher obtained data from management individuals of IT firms using a structured questionnaire composed of a five-point Likert scale. Statistical processing was performed using SPSS, where ANOVA, t-tests, and Friedman dictated the research methods. The research findings reveal that DT is a key element of KM because it boosts process efficacy, facilitates innovation, and unravels risk. Data analysis revealed that DT addressed the costs incurred by KM through the implementation of a shared knowledge culture and collaborative problem-solving mechanisms. On the other hand, it helped in risk management through shared decision making, which enhanced risk reduction during project development. In addition, the results confirm that DT integrated into management practices may enhance technological infrastructure and the knowledge economy, leading to better organizational performance in IT companies. The research was demonstrated to be reliable and valid in different ways, such as testing it using Cronbach‘s alpha, construct validity tests, and robust conclusions drawn from the findings. DT is not just a methodology, but rather a quintessential management mindset that assists IT firms in scouting complex, knowledge-enriched landscapes with finesse, and a vision towards creativity. Future research should be undertaken as an overwhelming analysis of DT's influence of DT on a company's changes and DT inclusion with other technologies in the knowledge management sector.enDesign ThinkingKnowledge ManagementInformation TechnologyIT companiesDesign Thinking and Efficiancy in Knowledge Management Practices in Global Information Technology Companiestext::thesis::doctoral thesis
