Abstract
Bicycle gearing is the aspect of a bicycle drivetrain that determines the relation
between the cadence, the rate at which the rider pedals, and the rate at which the
drive wheel turns.
Previously, bicycles as known to have only single gear but as technology advanced
multiple gearing mechanism were made possible which were manual, automatic
and even electronic.
This leads us till today where we introduce our new portable automatic gear
shifting mechanism.
Although automatic gear shifting in bicycle is rare, we have tried to come up with
a new concept which can shift the gears of the bicycle in response to the speed of
the person pedaling.
We provided a range of speed with respect to the corresponding gear allowing the
rider to change swiftly and effectively the gear without operating manual
command.
Also, we tried to make it portable so that it can fit on most standard bicycles.
We hope this product will be easily commercialized and distributed worldwide and
obtain recognition for what it is. Although it is a prototype and hence it can be
upgraded more and more, we hope this basic concept is enough.
This product is mostly suitable for normal terrain and is beginner friendly but less
suitable for professional riders or in competition.
